I found Dr. Shapiro quite pleasant & extremely competent. After having slowly-increasing pain in my left knee for years, at age 67 I experienced substantial pain & swelling, after hikes starting mid-August 2017. During my first appointment with Dr. Shapiro, he conducted an in-office procedure & diagnosed the problem as a torn meniscus. After surgery two-weeks later, in mid-November, where he fixed the menisucus, & removed a bone chip, & some “junk,” I applied myself to at home physical therapy. By January, I was making moderate 3 -5 mile hikes with slight pain, but swelling afterwards.
My knee continued to improve, although I still experienced some swelling after substantial walking, until early June, when pain & swelling ceased to bother me. In mid-September my wife & I hiked for 6 days in a row in the Dolomites, with the big day of the trip a 3,150’ vertical gain & loss while climbing a mountain. All told, we hiked about 41 miles & many thousands of vertical feet in 6 days, without my knee bothering me. I am most grateful to Dr. Shapiro.
Dr. Shapiro is an excellent doctor. He cares about his patients and listens to what you have to say. He did an excellent job on my shoulder surgery. I'm looking forward to a full recovery.
Dr. Shapiro diagnosed a serious injury that no doctor had yet identified with respect to my granddaughter. She needed surgery, but no doctor she had seen diagnosed her Lisfranc syndrome. She had subsequent surgery and an excellent recovery. But for the diagnosis she would have suffered continuing deterioration and the possible necrosis of tendon tissue in her foot.
Glen has a big heart and a wonderful knowledge base for treating his patients, a rare and necessary combination for healing.
My experience with Dr. Shapiro was fantastic. Through a minimally invasive procedure, he relieved my knee pain and allowed me to get back to the things I enjoy most. Thanks for everything Doc!
Dr Shapiro is very kind and will listen to you with all his heart, and then will explain to you in detail what is wrong with you and explain his procedure step by step until you understand what he is going to do and why he is doing it that way. He does not rush you through your appointment he will sit there until everything is said and understood
He is caring, smart, and explains everything in simple understandable terms. He listens and gave me all the time I needed. Most of all he has a great sense of humor and is compassionate. I'll send all my family and friends to him for sure. He's the BEST!
Outstanding care and treatment
Dr. Shapiro, I want to thank you so very much for taking all the pain out of my right knee. It is doing well and a bit of physical therapy is working. Looking forward to a more permanent repair. Again thank you, I am amazed at the difference, you are exceptional.
This office is small, so friendly, and down to earth, with not a lot of extraneous furnishings for "show". All the work, xrays, reading them, shots, etc. are done in house, which I really like! The Dr. explains things so thoroughly, reviews all the options, and listens to all questions easily. You don't feel stupid asking them, either. He spent a lot of time with me compared to other doctors I have been with. I didn't feel rushed. Already I feel confident in the course of action suggested.
Excellent communication between Dr. and patient. Fully understood the problem.
Dr. Shapiro listened to my concerns and answered my questions. I am very impressed that I am called by name upon entering the door. Everyone in the office made me feel important and that they appreciated me and that I was important.
Was kind and understand I needed to be send by a professional. They took me in right a way and the receptionist was very knowledgeable and caring. The exam was right to the point and I would recommend him to anyone. One the the Best in his field. Thank you so much. Made me fell like a family member with a Hugh heart.
Dr Shapiro is a nice guy who always explains the details of your circumstance in a very understandable manner. He is also generally right about his diagnosis and course of treatment. His office and staff are particularly patient friendly. I have already recommended him on many occasions and will continue to do so.
Thorough, explains the issue and solution in a way that a layman can understand him. Based on friends comments he is a very good surgeon, but in my case he recommended a brace and then physical therapy vs. surgery and it turn out to be the correct prognosis. The first orthopedic I went to for the injury recommended surgery.
I found Dr. Shapiro very competent and caring and also concerned about minimizing costs to the extent consistent with good care.
Could not have asked for a better Doc for my care.
Professional, caring, will go out of his way to be sure you are satisfied and healthy. Will answer all your questions so you understand everything about your healthy and can make informed decisions. One of the best.
Very helpful, to the point, and friendly.
He is good. I am very happy I have him for a doc, and have said so to my friends. He is easy to understand what has to be done and why. Any other work that needs doing I will go to him.
Shapiro becomes friends with you and your family. He will remember your name and history so you do not feel like just another patient! Very friendly always has a smile on his face!
I had one of the best experiences ever with Dr. Shapiro. I was able to get an appointment the next day. He is very personable and not at all aloof. Best bedside manner ever. He listens very closely and explained the diagnosis of my rotator cuff damage very well. He spent as much time with me as l needed. I highly recommend him.
